Birgitte Norman

Birgitte Norman

Ultrasoundmidwife

Birgitte Norman is an experienced ultrasound midwife with an impressive career that began when she graduated as a midwife in 2001. With 15 years of experience in the delivery department/obs. ward at Oslo University Hospital (OUS), she has a broad range of expertise in obstetrics and maternity care.

In 2011, she successfully pursued advanced education in ultrasound diagnostics for midwives at the National Center for Fetal Medicine, NTNU. Additionally, she further specialized in "Early Ultrasound" at the same institution. Her proficiency in fetal diagnostics is substantiated by her certification for "The 11-13 weeks scan" from the Fetal Medicine Foundation.

Between 2011 and 2016, she contributed her skills to the antenatal clinic at Ullevål before co-founding the Oslo Midwife and Ultrasound Clinic in 2015 alongside her colleague and friend, Stine.

In 2023, she completed comprehensive studies at NTNU, gaining specialized expertise in fetal heart examinations of fetal and maternal blood vessels (Doppler ultrasound).

An impressive list of achievements, including over 20,000 performed ultrasound examinations, attests to her dedication and proficiency in this field.

Furthermore, Birgitte served as a project collaborator in the "Prevention of Unwanted Pregnancy and Abortion among Non-Western Immigrant Women" (FAFUS) initiative at OUS/Ullevål.

In addition to her clinical work, she provided contraception counseling for midwives at Akershus University College.

Stine Lønne Wigestrand

Stine Lønne Wigestrand

Stine Lønne Wigestrand graduated as a midwife in 2002 and brings with her 16 years of experience from the delivery department/observation ward at Ullevål Hospital. Additionally, Stine worked as a midwife at the Health station in the Nordstrand district from 2007 to 2009. Subsequently, she pursued further education in contraceptive counseling for midwives at Akershus University College.

She then completed advanced training in ultrasound diagnostics for midwives at the National Center for Fetal Medicine, NTNU, in 2011, with a further specialization in "Early Ultrasound" at the same center. Stine is certified for "The 11-13 weeks scan" by the Fetal Medicine Foundation, confirming her expertise in fetal diagnostics.

From 2012 to 2016, she was employed at the antenatal clinic at Ullevål before co-founding the Oslo Midwife and Ultrasound Clinic in 2015 with her colleague and friend, Birgitte.

In 2023, Stine pursued in-depth studies at NTNU, acquiring specialized expertise in fetal heart examinations and investigations of fetal and maternal blood vessels (Doppler ultrasound).

In addition to her ultrasound skills, Stine has made significant contributions to the field through her role as a project collaborator in the Prevention of Unwanted Pregnancy and Abortion among Non-Western Immigrant Women (FAFUS) at OUS/Ullevål from 2010 to 2015.

Laila Ramsem

Laila Ramsem

Laila, a skilled and experienced midwife, completed her midwifery education in 2004 and has since distinguished herself as a dedicated professional in the field of obstetrics. Following her initial education, she also pursued further training in contraception in the same year. Her professional journey began as a rotating midwife at Aker Hospital from 2003 to 2004, and since 2004, she has been an integral part of the Women's Clinic at Ullevål Hospital.

Between 2006 and 2008, Laila assumed the position of Head Midwife at Haugerud Health Station. In 2017, she elected to specialize in ultrasound at NTNU, concurrently securing a position as an Ultrasound Midwife at the Fetal Medicine Department at Ullevål Hospital. This commitment has persisted, and she continues to contribute her expertise to the field in a part-time capacity.

We were fortunate to have Laila join our team in 2018, and at our clinic she focuses on ultrasound examinations. In 2022, she opted to undertake in-depth studies at NTNU, resulting in specialized expertise in fetal heart examinations and investigations of fetal and maternal blood vessels (Doppler ultrasound).

Currently, Laila also holds the role of coordinator at the Fetal Medicine Department at Ullevål Hospital, and her commitment and specialized expertise make her a valuable asset to our team. We are proud to have Laila with us!

Ragnhild Mellbye

Ragnhild Mellbye

Ragnhild successfully completed her midwifery education in 1981 and initiated her professional journey at Bærum Hospital in 1983, where she remained until 2009. Throughout this tenure, she garnered invaluable experience at Rikshospitalet.

Following her tenure at Bærum Hospital, Ragnhild expanded her professional horizons by affiliating herself with Ullevål/Oslo University Hospital from 2009 to 2021. Ragnhild's unwavering commitment to the midwifery profession impelled her to pursue advanced education in ultrasound at NTNU.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Ragnhild has accumulated extensive expertise in ultrasound for pregnant women.

In 2018, we were privileged to welcome Ragnhild to our team, a development that brings us great satisfaction. Ragnhild's enthusiasm, good humor, and professional acumen render her a valuable asset to our team!

Ida Widsten

Ida Cecilie Widsten

Midwife

Our midwife, Ida Cecilie Widsten, completed her midwifery education in 2008 and has accumulated 15 years of experience as a midwife in the delivery/postpartum department at Oslo University Hospital (OUS)/Ullevål.

In 2017, Ida pursued further education in reproductive health and rights, elective abortion, and contraception at Oslo Metropolitan University.

She currently works part-time at the observation unit for pregnant women at OUS/Ullevål.

Since 2017, Ida has been an integral part of our team, primarily focusing on antenatal care, postpartum check-ups, midwifery consultations, and contraception/pap smears. Ida is a warm, skilled, and versatile midwife with extensive experience from the delivery department at Ullevål. 

Furthermore, she excels as a compassionate conversational partner and is delighted to support you throughout the entirety of your pregnancy journey.
